I got Instructor of the Week!

"This week's instructor of the week is Sav Susnow, or "Flor", from EENGSC! Flor has been doing an amazing job teaching in both English and Spanish, acting as a class translator, to help EENG spread the message of sustainability to a more diverse group of young minds. Keep up the awesome work Flor!"

EENG: a group of educators that produce children whom fall over with excitement from every lesson.

Environmental Education for the Next Generation works in local elementary schools to bring in California Board of Education certified lesson plans on environmental education. The lesson for the week? Local and non-local foods.  This week's lesson at Bay View Elementary literally caused some of the kids to fall over with excitement! We had the class bring up, a third represented "local" while the rest were "non-local".  We passed a piece of fruit (per group) from "field to fork" and raced to see who could get it into a tummy first. The non-local team was pretty sad that they couldn't they had so many steps in between, "it's unfair!" Let's just say that they grasped the idea pretty well.
