Modern Technology
I am doing work at the one of local cafes, also the perfect place to people watch. The subject of the hour is a younger teenaged girl.
For the entire span of ten minutes she has been glued to her phone,
Taking pictures of herself.

Save the date!
Who would have guessed..me..getting married!?
Well shucks, Steve is a great guy ;) We met camping, and let's be real..you go camping with somebody for a week, it is the equivalent to a year. We met when the sun was still making its way up, packing up the cars for our trip to Death Valley. Our eyes met within seconds, as I giggled that his fly was down.
It was fate really, who else shares a passion for dental hygiene?!
He shared his floss (on a camping trip), need I say more! The engagement ring is made of floss too, some *myself* would consider this to be the cutest ever ;)

Dear Diary,
This entire past week I have been stressing out about not getting into the classes that I wanted and being frustrated with how many courses I had to crash. Frustrated about how many students were too crashing the courses and how much more work I had to do without access to the appropriate resources in order to stay on top of everything in the case I did not switch classes, or that I got in.
Tis a fabulous day, I got into all of them.
Sincerely,
Tis a fabulous day, I got into all of them.
Sincerely,

A land of "white folk", two moon-goddesses, lots of bundas, delicious food, alluvial fans, warm sleeping bags, borax, more borax and then some.

Our French Dog.
Our dear dog Yoda went through the trash and found himself a stale baguette. He was stoked, and went to the door, asking to kindly go out.
Yoda, you crack me up.
I then scolded him, he ran away to Tash's bed to hide it,
We found it later that night when snuggling.
hydrocortisone cream, you = life saver.
As the holidays come to a close, I reflect back to my adventures and fun (in the form of copious amounts of sleep). This year, I am grateful to have been gifted hydrocortisone cream (anti-itch cream), a great pair of hiking socks (made from bamboo!), a ballet class and the cutest lil' jars. Shucks familia, just what I wanted ;)
- A successful and drunken sister for our dreidel night.
- Winning our family game of Scrabble (as in just me and my mom, everyone else hates it).
- A tick bite and removing about 25 ticks from Yoda.
- A dog that farts on my face.
- Poison oak.
- Big Sur back-packing trip.
- Going up on the strip pole at a gay bar with two of my best friends.
- Sleep!
- Death Valley camping trip!
- And finding great Arab spices in Berkeley.
- Lots of Borax.
- Movie dates with my dad.
- And 'Hanukkah Hockey'
Holiday break, you served me well ;)
Collard Green Wraps [Vegan]
Throughout the ten weeks we worked every Wednesday out on the CASFS Farm doing various experiments, the particular one that I am referring to was with collard greens and green beans intercropped system. Meaning that each week, we got to harvest (for scientific purposes but of course)...which equals delicious and copious amounts of free and organic food to make up new recipes with!

Fold that shit*
Furthermore, my old special someone got this new book "100 Foods to Stay Young" and it has an alphabetical list by food category, accompanied with a recipe...the best part is that next to the recipe for each one there is a nutritional content, so I thought I would do some research of my own. I present you with the following:
Health Benefits:
Collard greens are an amazing cruciferous vegetable oh my goodness, to be honest I was eating them for the iron, but man of man. Collards have cancer preventative properties, as in give me another helping! The cancer-preventive properties of collard greens may be largely related to 4 specific glucosinolates found in this cruciferous vegetable: glucoraphanin, sinigrin, gluconasturtiian, and glucotropaeolin. Each of these glucosinolates can be converted into an isothiocyanate (ITC) that helps lower our cancer risk by supporting our detox and anti-inflammatory systems.
This connection between collard greens and cancer prevention should not be surprising since collard greens provide special nutrient support for three body systems that are closely connected with cancer development as well as cancer prevention. These three systems are (1) the body's detox system, (2) its antioxidant system, and (3) its inflammatory/anti-inflammatory system.
Collard Green Wraps (and yes, they are Vegan):
1 1/2 c. of Dahl
2 Green Serrano Peppers (any hot pepper would suffice)
1 c. of diced tomatoes
Enough collards to wrap up the insides
Make grain of your choice, I went with dahl (split garbanzo beans) and added in the diced tomatoes, and peppers. Selected some massive sized collard greens and wrapped them on up, them steam for ten. Also makes a perfect appetizer if you make them smaller, just saying ;)

Forwarded from my dad.
We decided to grab a bite at the food court.
I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him.
The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors - green, red,
orange, and blue.
My dad kept staring at her.
The teenager kept looking and would find my dad staring every time.
When the teenager had had enough, she sarcastically asked:
"What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?"
Knowing my Dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not
choke on his response; I knew he would have a good one!
In classic style he responded without batting an eyelid . ...
"Got stoned once and had sex with a parrot. I was just wondering if
you might be my kid."
