Oba!

Honduras: Ousted President Manuel Zelaya returns

Thousands greet Manuel Zelaya, the ex-president of Honduras ousted by the military in 2009, as he returns in a deal to end the country's political crisis. What is this? My oh my, in the last two weeks of Amurikah, and heading to Honduras we have this! Yikes (how exciting!!!) Slash Project, please do not get cancelled.

For those that are not brushed up on the happening in Honduras (I was in Nicaragua when this happened...so no worries if not.) President Zelaya was forced into exile in a coup d'etat or golpe de estado back in summer 2009. Zelaya did not follow the Supreme Court's order to cancel a non-binding vote on changing the constitution.

The said constitution change was aimed to removing what is the current one-term limit of presidency. Which, would have made it quite easy for his re-election. This however was not something that the military liked. Thus when Zelaya insisted that this consultation of the constitution be changed the Congress voted for him to be removed on the grounds of...best part here..
"repeated violations of the constitution and the law", in order to protect law and order.
Well done...I think you've done just that, law and order :)
